Bird of Paradise leaves always have some degree of splitting. Very common for this plant, doesn’t mean that it is not healthy.
Light - Low to Medium.
Temperature - 65F-80F. Keep the plant away from AC/Heat unit and cold drafts.
Water - After receiving a plant wait for 1-2 weeks and check the soil before watering.
Water your plant from the top, through the soil. Water only when the soil is dry!
Amount of water and frequency depends on a Pot size, Light, Temperature, and Airflow.

Plants potted in Rondo, Cubico, Canto, Classico, Puro Planters:
Approx. 96 oz of water on average once every 2-3 weeks.
Plants In Plastic Grower’s Pot:
10” pot - Approx. 96 oz of water on average once every 7-10 days.
Do not allow plants to stand in water.
Care - Rotate your plants to assure equal light exposure to all sides.
Wipe leaves regularly with a damp cloth to remove dust (top and bottom).
Spray leaves and blooms with water few times a week.
Spray daily during winter time, when heat is turned on.
Remove any completely yellow or brown leaves.
Fertilize: March, April, May - once a month with MiracleGro water soluble all purpose plant food at 1/2 the recommended strength.
Common Issues - Yellow, brown, rotting leaves is the sign of over-watering.
Droopy, curling leaves is the sign of under-watering.
Self-Watering Feature: Rondo, Cubico, Canto, Cubeto, Classico, Puro, Cararo, Windowsill, Delta, and Diamante planters have self-watering feature. We recommend waiting for 6-7 months before using this feature as plant needs time to grow its roots in order to reach the water reservoir.
